Escrow Kenya and Bass N Treble Electronics Store have announced a partnership to enable Kenyans to buy home and car entertainment electronics, and accessories with confidence from the online store.
BNT Kenya notes that although the company has enjoyed a long-standing reputation for selling top-quality electronics and delivering within record time, they are still adversely affected by trust issues from first-time customers, who are often skeptical about paying before delivery. This makes it hard -- sometimes impossible -- to close sales with such customers in locations where cash payment on delivery is impossible.
When checking out on BNT's e-commerce store, customers will now have the option to either pay directly to BNT or deposit the payment into a temporary holding account with Escrow Kenya by clicking the "Buy with Escrow" button. Customers who pay through Escrow Kenya will get buyer protection in that the money is only released to BNT when delivery is completed successfully. If something goes wrong, such customers are eligible for a refund.
This Escrow API integration partnership will greatly help skeptical customers to proceed with a purchase, even while skeptical, and equally help BNT Kenya close more sales online.
The announcement comes during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis, whose associated movement restrictions have dealt a blow to brick-and-motor businesses, and encouraged more businesses to embrace e-commerce. While this is a step in the right direction, such businesses still continue to be haunted by trust issues, that have been brought about by fraudsters who have given e-commerce a bad name in the past. Not a day goes by without tens to hundreds of complaints being made by victims on social media, detailing how they were swindled by fake e-commerce merchants.
This partnership between Escrow Kenya and BNT is yet another milestone in the fight against digital conmanship and a stamp of trust and credibility on BNT Kenya.
